Why Ottawa patients choose LMC Footcare
Winter that lasts. Ottawa winters are longer and colder than anywhere else we operate. That means cracked heels, chilblains, cold-induced circulation problems, and a steady run of ice-related foot and ankle injuries from December through March.
A city that walks and runs. Canal skating, Gatineau Park trails, Ottawa Race Weekend training blocks, and a downtown core where people walk between buildings year-round. Heel pain and Achilles trouble peak in the spring training build.
Plus the LMC standard: registered chiropodists, an assessment summary sent to your family doctor, Approved Provider Network membership, and the backing of Canada’s largest diabetes specialist group.

Many public sector extended health plans cover chiropody as a paramedical service and cover custom orthotics under a separate benefit, sometimes with a prescription requirement. Coverage varies by plan and by year, so check your current plan documents. We provide itemized receipts and any documentation you need to submit a claim.
Yes. We treat patients from Gatineau and across the Outaouais. Chiropody is not covered by RAMQ, and services received in Ontario are not reimbursed by Quebec public insurance, so check your private or employer plan for coverage.
No referral is needed to book an initial assessment. Some insurance plans ask for a referral or a prescription before reimbursing, particularly for orthotics, so check your plan first.
No. OHIP does not cover chiropody or podiatry in Ontario. Most extended health plans do, and we provide receipts and documentation for your claim.
