Pes Cavus (High Arches): Symptoms, Complications, and Treatment Options
High arches (pes cavus) are a foot condition in which the arch sits significantly higher than normal, concentrating body weight on the heel and ball
Our LMC Chiropodists have treatment options available to manage your toenail infection. Finding the best treatment depends on factors like age, activity level, health history or how severe your symptoms are. You may need routine nail care maintenance once the initial concern is treated.
LED light therapy toenail treatment is designed for patients with persistent or difficult-to-treat fungal nail infections that have not responded to over-the-counter products.
Our LED light therapy treatment uses a dual-wavelength photodynamic system combined with a specialized photosensitizing serum to eliminate fungal infections directly at the source. Here’s the science behind this innovative approach:
Your clinician gently files down the infected nail to remove debris and optimize serum penetration.
Serum is applied to the affected nails. This serum binds specifically to fungal cells, staining them and making them vulnerable to light-activated destruction.
A therapy light is positioned over your toenails. The light activates the serum, triggering a photodynamic reaction that destroys fungal cells while leaving healthy tissue unharmed.
Treatments are performed every two weeks, with most patients requiring 8 - 10 sessions to achieve significant nail clearance.
This treatment approach focuses on improving nail clarity and overall nail health through structured in-clinic care, regular follow-up, and education on proper nail and foot hygiene.
Your chiropodist will assess your nails and overall foot health and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan based on your individual needs.
This service is currently offered at our Bayview clinic only.

The location, timing, and character of the foot pain are the clearest indicators of what is actually causing it. Heel pain that is worst first

Foot pain is most commonly caused by biomechanical imbalances, overuse, poorly fitted footwear, or underlying health conditions that affect the structure and function of the

Not every runner needs custom orthotics, but they make a significant difference for those with biomechanical issues such as overpronation, flat feet, or high arches,

Custom orthotics can help manage hammer toes by correcting the underlying foot mechanics that contribute to the deformity, redistributing pressure away from the affected toes,

For most adults, custom orthotics manage flat feet rather than permanently correcting the underlying foot structure. They work by supporting the arch, redistributing pressure, and
